Vision and perspective
As one of the business units within the IHC Merwede group, IHC Drives & Automation (IHC D&A) provides electrical engineering and automation for total synergy with naval architecture and mechanical engineering. Integration of disciplines generates considerable benefits in the fields of design, building and operation of complicated vessels.

IHC Merwede, the technology innovator, is the reliable partner and creator of innovative assets for challenging projects in the offshore dredging, oil, gas, mining and deep-sea mining markets.

Mission
IHC D&A’s mission is to provide benefits in the fields of electrical power, automation and system integration, both within the IHC Merwede group and to external customers, such as shipyards, large oil and gas operators, and dredging and mining companies.

In line with IHC Merwede’s strategy of innovation, IHC D&A substantially invests in the fields of customised electrical and automation solutions, as well as life cycle support and research & development, to focus on:

• extensive knowledge of vessel design and integration of the electrical package
• standardisation of control subsystems and components, e-configuration and networks
• optimal system architecture for the efficient use of equipment, space and performance
• remote monitoring, upgrading, fault analysis and fault fixing
• intelligent power provision and consumption, smoothening of PMS
• JIT delivery of guaranteed power and control electronics
• implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field.

Ambition
IHC D&A pursues the goal of contributing to the optimisation of price, quality, delivery time, sustainability and maintainability of IHC Merwede products, systems and services. It strives to be a reliable partner for customers and other stakeholders in related product/market areas.
