It is especially the incorporation within IHC Merwede, and the associated knowledge of nearly all aspects of vessel and equipment design, that drives the IHC D&A team. They have backgrounds in this world and govern hydrodynamic and shipbuilding-related issues with the same craftsmanship and experience as, for example, the integration of large computer systems and communication networks. The team has grown up with dredging, mining and offshore oil and gas technology. In addition, the team members have thorough knowledge of power-generation and power converting machines, with an equal emphasis on the mechanical, electrical and thermal aspects, as well as expertise in deep-sea applications. We have in-depth resources in the field of instrumentation, control, automation and simulator technology and can achieve elaborate synergy in automation standards through all IHC Merwede products.

Established in November 2009, IHC D&A immediately gained the confidence of the market and can already boast an impressive track record. With its location in Sliedrecht, the company has optimally been positioned in the cradle of dredging and offshore supporting industries in the Rotterdam area. Our attention is directed to the system integration of all high-tech systems aboard of vessels, built at IHC Merwede's Dredging & Mining and Offshore & Marine shipyards, and similar vessels built at related third-party yards.

IHC D&A integrates and supplies all kinds of high-end electric generators and motors, power distribution systems, transformers, variable frequency drives and inverters in the medium voltage range up to 6.6 (11) kV. In addition, automated control and Scada systems for these functions are developed and integrated with dredging automation. DP2 and DP3 systems are in the picture, together with drive, platform and offshore functional automation, all supported by complete electrical installations.

IHC D&A's people manage all the activities related to the integration and successful operation of products and systems, such as pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, functional specifications and designs, system architecture diagrams, block and circuit diagrams as well as research and development activities. Logistics and procurement, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, simulator-supported training and spare part management are the entry for our vision on life cycle support.
